This victory brought Bagnaia closer to Jorge Martin in the MotoGP world title fight. Bagnaia now has 357 points, while Martin has 372 points. Marc Marquez finished third in the Sprint Race, and now has 295 points. Enea Bastianini finished second, and now has 300 points.
Bagnaia's win in Japan was his second of the season. He also won the Sprint Race at the Austrian Grand Prix. Bagnaia has now won five Sprint Races this season, while Martin has won six.
Bagnaia's victory in Japan also brought him closer to the MotoGP world title. Bagnaia is now only 15 points behind Martin. However, Martin still has a chance to defend his MotoGP world title. He still has 4 more races to catch Bagnaia.
The next MotoGP race will be held at the Motegi Circuit, Japan on Sunday, October 6, 2024. Bagnaia will try to win again, while Martin will try to defend his MotoGP world title.
