NOBARTV NEWS – The 2024 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli Circuit has become a fierce competition for MotoGP riders. Marc Marquez, who performed impressively in the first free practice session, managed to record the fastest time and showed his dominance on the track. However, the competition did not only come from Marquez, because other top riders also showed extraordinary performances, including Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia.
Marquez Masters the First Free Practice Session
Marc Marquez, riding a Ducati GP23 motorbike, performed brilliantly in the first free practice session (Free Practice 1) of the 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP on Friday (20/9). Even though the track conditions were wet, the Spanish racer managed to record the fastest time of 1 minute 32,080 seconds. Appearing with a different motorbike from his colleagues, such as Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin who used the Ducati GP24, Marquez was still able to show his ability to master the track.
At the beginning of the session, several riders such as Jorge Martin, Pecco Bagnaia, and Marc Marquez seemed hesitant to take to the track due to the wet conditions. However, when Marquez came out of the pit lane about 15 minutes before the end of the session, he began to show extraordinary performance. With just a few laps, Marquez managed to improve his time and take the top position.
In addition to Marquez, Jorge Martin who uses Ducati GP24 also performed impressively with a time of 1 minute 32,145 seconds, very close to Marquez. Franco Morbidelli, who was also in third position, managed to stick closely to the two riders with a difference of 0,186 seconds.
Tight Competition in Advanced Free Practice Session
After the first free practice session, the competition at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix heated up. In the next session, Bagnaia, who is a two-time MotoGP world champion, managed to emerge as the fastest rider. Although Jorge Martin had led with a time of 1 minute 31,325 seconds, Bagnaia then took over the leading position with a time of 1 minute 30,531 seconds.
However, it did not stop there, Bagnaia continued to improve his time until finally recording a time of 1 minute 30,286 seconds in the last five minutes of the free practice session. Jorge Martin, who tried to catch up with Bagnaia's time, fell and had to be satisfied with second place with a difference of almost 0,3 seconds from the world champion.
Marquez, who had previously led in the first session, finished third in the next free practice session. Even so, Marquez's performance was still considered impressive considering he was using a GP23 motorbike which is considered older than the motorbikes used by Bagnaia and Martin.

The Misano circuit has always been known as one of the technical and challenging tracks. The wet track conditions made it even more difficult for the riders to control their bikes.
